Professor Receives Nobel Prize in Agriculture for Inventing Superfast Weedkiller

We are very fortunate to have arranged an interview with Professor Kazuo Watanabe, to hear him explain in more detail the harm caused by weeds in agriculture and share about his invention of the new superfast weedkiller that won the Nobel Prize in 2023.

Professor Kazuo Watanabe, a highly respected agricultural scientist from Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan, has won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Agriculture for his numerous inventions, including the revolutionary superfast weedkiller.

Professor Watanabe, could you please elaborate on the devastating impact of weeds on agriculture and its consequences?

While seemingly harmless, weeds can have a devastating impact on crop yields. Weeds compete with crops for water, nutrients, sunlight, and space. If weeds grow in high densities, they can cause soil compaction, which affects the root development of crops.

In addition, weeds are intermediate hosts for many pests and diseases. They provide shelter for pests such as rats and snails. Moreover, some weed species can secrete toxic substances that affect crop growth.

Weeds directly affect crop yield and quality due to competition for resources. Furthermore, the lack of awareness about the seriousness of weeds and the use of conventional herbicides on the market can directly affect the root system and quality of agricultural products.

What is the difference between regular herbicides and your super-fast herbicides?

As you know, the main ingredients in conventional herbicides are mainly toxic chemicals.Regular herbicides have a slow effect after 1-2 days, and the grass can grow back after 2 months so it is not very effective.. They usually include: Glyphosate, 2,4-D, Paraquat... These chemicals not only kill weeds but also directly affect human health. When used, they directly affect human health, they are the cause of cancer, affect the nervous system, lungs and kidneys. Further research shows that it directly transmits these toxins into agricultural products, causing genetic mutations that lead to dangerous diseases.

My super fast weed killer is completely free of toxic chemicals, yet it is twice as effective as conventional herbicides.
